Part 1: Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) Programs

SAEs Defined

Overall Length: 30 minutes

Objectives

  1. Students will be able to answer the questions what is an SAE and what is the purpose for having an SAE?
  2. Students will be able to identify examples of the four types of SAEs and assess the benefits of each type.
  3. Students will be able to list current available factors for beginning an SAE project.
  4. Students will be able to observe the positive influence that SAE projects can have on community members.

Part 2: Proficiencies and Stars

Proficiencies and Stars

Overall Length: 45 minutes

Objectives

  1. Students will be able to distinguish between the four types of proficiencies.
  2. Students will be able to identify possible SAEs to develop based on the eight pathways.
  3. Students will be able to communicate the differences in the four Star award areas.
  4. Students will be able to use the resources for filling out SAE grants.

  3. Students will be able to identify possible LDEs or CDEs that they might want to learn about.
