PATHWAY

Graduate Degree Program

DESCRIPTION

• Obtain either a master’s or doctorate degree

• Requires an undergraduate B.A. or B .S. degree

BENEFITS

• Will ensure that you be come an expert in your chosen field, allowing you to work as a professor if you choose

DISADVANTAGES

• Can take nearly a decade to achieve

• Comes with many requirements, such a s publishing research papers and teaching undergraduate classes

• Likely requires writing and defending a thesis before your degree is conferred


PATHWAY

Four-Year Degree Program

DESCRIPTION

• Earns you a bachelor’s (B. A. or B.S.) degree in a specific field with the option to add a minor or double major

BENEFITS

• Meets requirements of many employers seeking applicants who have at least an undergraduate degree

• A wide variety of areas of study

• Family businesses also typically offer opportunities to follow a management or leadership track.

DISADVANTAGES

• Family dynamics can make it difficult to get your job done.

• Boundaries between work time and family time can be blurred.

• If there are multiple siblings in the family, you may have to share ownership.
