National Collegiate Agriculture Ambassadors

Ag Ambassadors

National Collegiate Agriculture Ambassadors are trained to give presentations and facilitate workshops to audiences of all ages who are interested in learning more about the agriculture industry. The programs serves to:

  • Increase public understanding of the food, fiber and natural resource industry.
  • Promote awareness of the scientific, economical and mechanical resources needed to produce a safe and reliable food source.
  • Increase awareness of career opportunities in the agriculture industry for collegiate students and the general public.
  • Provide growth opportunities in leadership, facilitation and the agricultural industry for the collegiate agriculture ambassador team.

Those selected as Ag Ambassadors will serve a year in their role and will receive a $1,000 scholarship for their work advocating for the industry.

Requirements

Any college sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student who has the desire to promote agriculture and perfect their presentation skills can apply to be an ag ambassador.

Ambassador applicants must have completed, or be completing their freshman year of college, as well as be pursuing an agriculture degree. Applicants must also be a full time student the entire year they are serving as an agricultural ambassador. Applicants must have a genuine desire to promote agriculture and to help others better understand the value and importance of the industry. All ambassadors must be a former FFA member, current collegiate FFA member or a member of the National FFA Alumni Association.

Selected ambassadors are required to attend two trainings; the summer training takes place in August. The winter training takes place in late December.

How to Apply

The 2013-2014 Collegiate FFA Agriculture Ambassador Team serves from August 2013 to July 2014. If you are interested in serving as an ambassador on the 2014-2015 team, applications will be available in the spring of 2014.
