Retail programs provide funding through partnerships with local retailers and are dependent upon consumer donations through the sales of paper emblems, direct donations and sales based rebates. To date, more than $3 million has been raised and dispersed among chapters.

Culver’s – Scoop of Thanks

In 2013, Culver’s launched the “Thank You Farmers” campaign. In this campaign, local Culver’s franchise owners are encouraged to raise $2,000 per store and donate it directly to a local FFA chapter. Store owners have been encouraged to contact their local FFA advisor to facilitate opportunities to increase dollars raised by having a presence at other fundraising events. Other possible fundraising by the local store could include donation cans and FFA emblem purchases.

Guests purchase a single scoop of Fresh Frozen Custard for a $1 and the $1 is a donated to a local FFA chapter or ag organization by the restaurant.

Scoops of Thanks fundraising day happens annually in early May.

Keystone Steel and Wire/Red Brand – Home Grown Program

Every new order of Red Brand Field Fence, Sheep & Goat Fence, Barbed Wire, Red Brand Non-Climb and Keepsafe V-Mesh Horse Fence, Red Brand 2×4 Welded Wire and Red Brand Poultry Netting placed by dealers will result in $1 donated to a local FFA chapter in the dealer’s name ($.50 for Red Brand 2×4 Welded Wire and Red Brand Poultry Netting).

Home Grown runs from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31 and applies to all new orders.

Each retailer is able to choose up to three FFA chapters. The annual enrollment deadline is March 31.

Southern States – Paper Emblem Sales

Southern States supports FFA by selling FFA emblems for $1. The campaign takes place March 1 – March 31, annually.

After an emblem is purchased, a name can be signed on the line. The emblems will then be displayed in the store for the general public to see. Proceeds are split between the local FFA chapter, the state FFA association and the National FFA Foundation.

Tractor Supply Company – Paper Emblem Sales

During National FFA Week, FFA paper emblems are available to consumers for $1 or more at their local Tractor Supply Company stores. Members are encouraged to organize/participate in events at the store to help drive sales of the emblems. Having bake sales, car washes and other student-run activities while engaging customers at the store are additional ways for chapters to fundraise. The proceeds from the paper emblem sales fund grant projects through the Grants for Growing program.

Grants for Growing is a competitive grant opportunity for which chapters apply in between Jan. and Feb. The grant amounts are between $500 – $5,000 and can be used to develop a new agriculture project or help sustain an existing project. Members will have to opportunity to work with a local store and engage with customers in an effort to drive the sales of the paper emblems and collect other donations during National FFA Week.

Zeotis – Industry Support Program

Zoetis dealers/veterinarians are provided a rebate of one percent for their qualifying purchases of Zoetis products. In Dec., dealers/vets sign up to participate. They then designate up to five local FFA chapters or their FFA state foundation/association to receive the rebate. The funds are raised between Feb. 1 and April 30.
