National FFA Update

We need your help to fight hunger
We are preparing to package 1 million meals at the 85th National FFA Convention & Expo this year. The FFA Rally to Fight Hunger needs 10,000 FFA members from Oct. 24-26. Members from across the nation will assemble meals at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis and gather additional supplements to provide relief from hunger and malnutrition. Chapters can sign up for hour-long shifts during this unprecedented three-day effort against hunger. Schedule a shift during convention registration, which goes live on www.ffa.org in mid-August. Visit www.FFA.org/Rally for more information.

FFA seeks members to star in convention and expo theme video
FFA has an exciting opportunity for members. When filming the theme video for the National FFA Convention and Expo, typically a studio is used and state officer teams and chapters conveniently located near Indianapolis are asked to participate. This year, FFA would like to include FFA members from all states. Between now and the end of July, we hope to collect as many photos and videos of FFA members from across the county as possible; this is a huge undertaking and we need your help to make it work. Click here for information and details about what type of photos and videos we’re looking for and how to submit them. Forward this information to all FFA members. If you are a past member and/or have historical FFA pictures, we would love to see those, as well. This is a great way for members in your state to be seen on the big screen in the national convention and expo theme video. Contact Cindy Hefner, chefner@ffa.org or 317-802-4256, with questions.

When disaster strikes…
Mother Nature has kept many of us busy this summer--from the wildfires out West to the flooding and storms down South. We know that many of our chapters and state associations would like to reach out and help. If you know of an FFA chapter that has been negatively impacted by a recent natural disaster, email websubmit@ffa.org so we can share the chapter’s needs with our FFA family. We will continue to update our Natural Disaster Recovery Efforts website with the information that we receive.
