INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016/National FFA Organization) – The U.S. Poultry and Egg Association will be honored with the Distinguished Service Citation at the 2016 National FFA Convention & Expo held in Indianapolis Oct. 19-22, 2016.
Since 2003, the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association has supported the National FFA Organization and currently sponsors the poultry production and food science & technology career development events, as well as the poultry proficiency. In addition, the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association promotes FFA during their meetings and events, as well as socially. They also have an educational poultry series they share with FFA members through the My Journey platform on FFA.org. In 2015, John Starkey, president of the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, joined the National FFA Foundation Sponsors' Board and is already making a significant impact by bringing on new sponsors.
Awards such as the Distinguished Service Citation recognize that FFA makes a greater impression on students through the cooperation of the entire community. FFA and agricultural education programs have helped millions of students achieve extraordinary success for 89 years.
