INDIANAPOLIS (Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 /National FFA Organization) – This fall, RAM Trucks and Chrysler will be honored on stage with Distinguished Service Citation at the 2013 National FFA Convention & Expo in Louisville, Ky.
For more than 60 years, RAM Trucks has supported core programs of the National FFA Organization and the National FFA Convention & Expo opening video. In January, RAM worked closed with FFA to develop and fund a Super Bowl ad that honored the American farmer. As a result of social media outreach, RAM made an additional donation of $1 million to FFA to help support programming with a special focus on the strategic initiative, “Feeding the World-Starting at Home.”
Throughout the years, RAM has continually supported FFA and its mission of premier leadership, personal growth and career success. This year, RAM became a platinum sponsor.
RAM is currently working to connect local dealers with FFA chapters in meaningful ways, including scholarships, huger initiatives and determining local chapter needs.
RAM was nominated by Glenn Sims, a senior regional director at the National FFA Foundation. Ram advertising director Marissa Hunter will represent the company in an on-stage ceremony at convention to accept the recognition on Nov. 1 during the fourth general session.
Awards such as the Distinguished Service Citation recognize that FFA makes a greater impression on students through the cooperation of the entire community. FFA and agricultural education programs have helped millions of students achieve extraordinary success for 86 years.
The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 557,318 student members in grades seven through 12 who belong to one of 7,498 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
