INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016/National FFA Organization) – Michael Gustafson of Dennison, Ill., has been awarded the VIP Citation by the National FFA Organization, recognizing his significant contributions to FFA and agricultural education.
Gustafson has served on the National FFA Marketing Plan Career Development Event committee since 1990 as the lead marketing and business contact. He has been an instrumental part of the national event for each of those years, working closely with the National Agri-Marketing Association to ensure that the highest quality event is conducted annually. He also uses his professional networks to secure highly qualified judges. In the 26 years he has been serving at the event, he has impacted more than 4,000 FFA members from across the nation.
"The VIP Citation recognizes the dedicated individuals who contribute to the FFA mission of student success through their hard work and cooperation," the organization's CEO, Mark Poeschl, said. "Without such strong and outstanding commitment, FFA would not be able to help build strong character in its members, who in turn build strong families, communities and businesses."
The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 629,367 student members who belong to one of 7,757 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
