FFA Members are Hunger Heroes!
The National FFA Organization envisions a world in which hunger is a thing of the past. With one in six Americans experiencing food insecurity, FFA believes there is no one better to address the challenge of hunger than FFA members who are preparing to be leaders in providing food and fiber for our world. Below you will find highlights of current FFA hunger fighting impacts.
Holmen FFA (WI)
Holmen FFA in Wisconsin partnered with the Nutrition Services program in their school district through the Farm 2 School program to make a complete circle of the production to consumption journey. They raised 450 chickens and had them processed for school lunch to feed their district of 3700+ students and faculty.
Elba FFA (AL)
Elba FFA in Alabama is addressing hunger by planting and producing fresh vegetables to be given to families in the surrounding area through the Elba Food Bank. They are also conducting workshops and presentations to enable families to begin a garden of their own.
