Agricultural Issues Forum CDE

Participants in the Agricultural Issues Form CDE research the pros and cons of an agricultural issue, and present their findings and theories to a panel of judges. The event helps students to develop critical thinking, problem solving and formal communication skills.

Team Format

Three to seven participants per team. Team is scored as a group. No individual scores.

Awards

Effective in 2012 and beyond, CDE scholarships will be given as cash awards. This change will benefit all participants whether or not they choose to pursue higher education and will also develop consistency between national FFA award programs. Scholarships awarded in 2011 or before will continue to be distributed as in the past. Below you will find the cash award amounts for this CDE:

First place team receives $6,000 total (divided evenly among team members)
Second place team receives $4,000 total (divided evenly among team members)
Third place team receives $1,750 total (divided evenly among team members)
Fourth place team receives $750 total (divided evenly among team members)
