National FFA Foundation
INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, May 2, 2013/National FFA Foundation) – The Donaldson Foundation, which funds charitable causes on behalf of global filtration systems manufacturer Donaldson Company, has awarded the National FFA Foundation $100,000 for the distribution of environmental and hunger-fighting grants to qualifying FFA chapters throughout the country.
FFA has received $50,000 to utilize for the award of environmental grants and $50,000 to support FFA: Food For All grants.
Last year, 74 FFA chapters in 27 states and Puerto Rico developed plans to tackle an environmental issue in their communities and received up to $2,000 each from the National FFA Organization's Living to Serve: Environmental Grant program. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2013-2014 school year. FFA chapters who have applied for environmental grants through FFA will be announced Aug. 5-9.
This year, 132 FFA chapters in 42 states were awarded FFA: Food For All grants that will help local FFA members fight hunger in their communities. FFA chapters received up to $2,500 each to support year-long service-learning projects focused on developing and implementing sustainable hunger programs. A total of $320,000 in grants was awarded to FFA chapters this year.
