INDIANAPOLIS (Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014/National FFA Foundation) – Last year during National FFA Week, Tractor Supply Co. customers donated a dollar at the checkout register and collectively raised more than $360,000 to provide scholarships for college-bound FFA members.

From Friday through Feb. 23, the long-standing supporter of FFA will again encourage participating stores’ customers to buy a paper emblem at the register, personalize it for display in the store and give $1 to support FFA.

All proceeds raised will be awarded to the National FFA Foundation for distribution to state FFA programs and scholarships. Ninety percent of donations will fund $1,000 scholarships for FFA members while 10 percent will support state FFA association programs.

In just 10 days last year, Tractor Supply’s Growing Scholars campaign raised $362,324 in 45 states to provide 284 scholarships for FFA members to use toward college expenses.

"National FFA Week is an ideal time for local FFA members to join together with their local Tractor Supply stores and encourage contributions to make a difference in the lives of students with their sights set on a college education,” said National FFA Foundation President Molly Ball. “Tractor Supply is one of our top scholarship sponsors, a company that truly cares about our success as an organization, our students’ successes and the future of agricultural education."

Participating Tractor Supply stores will also be hosting a Love Your Pet event from Wednesday through Sunday. The first 50 customers who bring their pet into a participating Tractor Supply store will receive a free reflective ID tag. Many stores will partner with local pet adoption agencies, pet groomers, veterinarians and trainers to provide pet-related services. Tractor Supply stores will also be offering pet department special offers and sales.
