Miller named chair-elect of 2014 National FFA Foundation Board of Directors

INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014/National FFA Organization) – – Elin Miller has been named chair-elect of the 2014 National FFA Foundation Board of Directors.

Miller, who is principal of Elin Miller Consulting, serves as chair of Marrone Bio Innovations, a California company public on NASDAQ; vice chair of the Umpqua Community College’s board of trustees, chair of Vestaron Board, a crop protection company in Michigan; chair of NeighborWorks Umpqua, a not-for-profit corporation; and a board member serving Umpqua Bank.

From 2006-2009, she served a presidential appointment as regional administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency, with jurisdiction over Alaska, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. She served as president and CEO of Arysta Life Science North America/Australasia from 2004-2006 and previously held various leadership positions at Dow Chemical.

Miller also serves on the board and audit committee of the National FFA Foundation Board of Trustees.

She received her bachelor's degree in agronomy and plant protection from the University of Arizona and graduated from INSEAD's advanced management program in France.

The National FFA Foundation is the fundraising arm of the National FFA Organization, which provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 579,678 student members in grades seven through 12 who belong to one of 7,570 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
