Vegetable Production: HS.23 : Taking Risks (all,IA) (PDF) | (PPT)
Many vegetables rely solely on fruit/seed production for their survival. After vegetative growth, a plant puts all of its energy in reproduction--essentially, taking a huge risk that one of the seeds they produce will germinate the next year. As humans, we can use this example in our own lives. If the plant didnt take a risk, there surely would be no return the next year. Help students discover the benefits of taking risks.
