The Siegal FFA Chapter was one of many participants in the recently completed FFA Chapter Challenge. The program was geared to get FFA members connecting with agriculturists and other supporters in their community about the importance of FFA and agriculture education. One element of the contest included developing a social media plan as well as a web video to detail those objectives.
The video produced by Siegal FFA was easily one of the best. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-h9Lrori9s
Producing a video for your chapter to share at your banquet, with community members, potential sponsors and online is a great way to tell your FFA chapter story. The process has gotten easier, too, with the rise of video recording capabilities existing in digital cameras and smart phones and easy-to-use video editing programs like iMovie (Mac) and Windows Movie Maker (Windows).
Challenge your students to create a two-minute video explaining why FFA is important, both globally and locally. A simple Google search can bring up plenty of tips and templates to make the process easier than you would think.
