Agricultural Career Network offers opportunities for students to explore careers

This spring, FFA members across the country were able to log in to the National FFA Organization’s Agricultural Career Network and begin to document their educational achievements, create robust portfolios and pursue scholarship, awards and employment opportunities. The network will provide a database of students who are interested in particular career fields within the industry.

This fall, FFA members will also be able to take another step on their path to career success. Through AgCN, FFA will work in collaboration with Career Cruising and AgCareers.com to provide valuable tools and assistance for students in their pursuits of more than 300 careers in agriculture.

Through the organization’s relationship with Career Cruising, members will have easy access to career information within selected fields of interest. Career Cruising will provide online career exploration tools that lead to recommending classwork and hands-on learning opportunities while guiding members along a path tailored to their abilities.

The organization’s partnership with AgCareers.com will allow members to search for career opportunities within their particular field of study or within a selected geographic area through a very robust job board. With AgCN, FFA members will have a convenient home for both career exploration and job placement.

More information on AgCN and what it means for members, advisors, state staff and alumni will be available during the 85th National FFA Convention & Expo through a variety of workshops. Make sure to check out www.FFA.org/convention to find out what workshops you should attend!
