Be an advocate for agriculture

The National Collegiate Agriculture Ambassador program is looking for 20 college students to promote the industry of agriculture during the 2012-2013 school year. The ambassador program is a terrific opportunity to sharpen public speaking and presentation skills, visit corporate headquarters of leading agribusinesses and earn some money for college.

Ambassadors have the unique opportunity to teach people of all ages about agriculture and how the industry impacts lives on a daily basis. The program is for full-time college students who have completed at least their freshman year of college, and they must be pursuing a degree related to agriculture.

Selected students will receive a $1,000 scholarship, a digital camera, and the use of an iPad and LCD projector. Students will experience an intense training session this August in North Carolina and may also have other opportunities to travel during their term.

To learn more about the program or to apply, visit the Collegiate website, or email Lindsey Calhoun, lcalhoun@FFA.org. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. EDT on June 1.
