New Century Farmer - applications now available

Applications for the New Century Farmer conference are now available! New Century Farmer is an exclusive, premier event for students interested in a career in production agriculture. The all-expenses paid conference will be held July 8-14 in Des Moines, Iowa.

The New Century Farmer conference helps students develop their careers in production agriculture by providing them with an opportunity to advance their:

  • Entrepreneurial leadership
  • Practical knowledge
  • Visioning
  • Global perspective
  • Continuous personal growth

During the intensive conference, participants will network with industry experts, presenters and each other. They will attend a series of workshops and sessions discussing topics ranging from the global marketplace to farm financing, consumer trends and managing risk.

Last year students from 24 states participated in the event. One of last year’s participants was Seth Pratt, who’s currently serving as a National FFA Western Region Vice President. “Looking back on New Century Farmer,” he says, “I realize that experience gave me two valuable things: a renewed passion for agriculture and a network of peers who share the same passion for agriculture as myself. It was an experience that changed how I see the world, and offered valuable insights on success in agriculture.”

Applications for New Century Farmer are due at 5 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 15. For more information about the event, visit the New Century Farmer webpage. If you need additional help, contact Lindsey Calhoun, 317-802-4263 or lcalhoun@FFA.org.
