National Chapter

You said,
“Change the recognition ceremony so 2 and 1 star are recognized along with the 3 star.”

Our response:
In 2013, the 1 and 2 Star Ceremony has been integrated into the National Chapter Awards Dinner in an effort to provide a larger event highlighting chapters. We are unable to put 1 and 2 stars back on the main stage due to time constraints and consistency with other award programs.

You said,
“Simplify the award application form and make it faster and easier to complete.”

Our response:
The application underwent revision in 2012. The application will soon be moved to an online system in order to eliminate issues that relate to the Excel program and versioning. This transition will begin soon and the new application is projected to launch in August of 2014. There will be training through summer conferences in 2014 with the LPS staff facilitating. The application components will remain the same; however, the format will be moved online.

You said,
“Revise the scoring system on the activities so it is more consistent.”

Our response:
The rubric underwent revision in 2012 with the application. The scoring of each activity is the same across the student, chapter and community divisions per the established rubric.

You said,
“Provide feedback for the ranks given.”

Our response:
The National FFA Organization is working on coming up with a system to provide feedback to chapters that go through the summer judging process. We hope to be able to implement in 2013.
