Information: Dairy Nutrition Specialists are essential to maximizing profits for the dairy industry. They are responsible for developing rations for cows currently in production and those being developed for future production programs. They must customize rations for different stages of production in order to balance the nutrients for the needs of the animal, while minimizing the cost of the feed stuff. Putting cows into a nutritional cycle that will increase longevity and keep them in production is what finally determines the effectiveness of a good nutrition specialist. Dairy Nutrition Specialists are continually working on new research to improve the quality of rations they can develop. They analyze quality and variety of feeds to determine how they can introduce them to an existing ration. They will traditionally study the utilization of feeds to ensure they are performing as they had expected. As technology increases, the research of feeds that have been used will become easier to study making the job of the nutrition specialist more affective in minimizing costs. |
