Collegiate FFA Hilton Hangout
Wednesday, Oct. 20 and Friday, Oct. 22; evenings, in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel.
The Hilton loves National FFA and we love them. We've joined forces to transform a portion of the lobby into a new kind of happy hour hang out! Alcohol-free of course; come join other college students for a relaxing end to your day!
Amazing Race: Indy Style

If there is anything we know about college students, they are competitive! After a long day working the career show, encourage your students to put together a team and discover Indianapolis in a fun (and sometimes fierce) race around the city. They'll make their way to a party at the Collegiate House Party at the Rock Bottom Restaurant.

On Thursday night, join your fellow collegiate students at Rock Bottom for free food, billiards and fun! We have rented out the basement of Rock Bottom for an evening of networking and fun! Come at 8 p.m., to see who wins the Amazing Race, as it will conclude at Rock Bottom!
Collegiate Career Expo
Saturday, Oct. 23; 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.; Lucas Oil Stadium
Only our biggest sponsors are invited for an intimate opportunity to meet one-on-one Saturday morning with our college students. Many universities make travel arrangements for students to leave on Friday, but this is not an event to be missed! It is the capstone of our collegiate activities and gives students access to premier internships and career opportunities.

National Collegiate Agricultural Ambassadors
2010-2011 National Collegiate Agricultural Ambassador Team Selected
National Collegiate Agricultural Ambassador team. The selected individuals will promote agriculture awareness in their home communities and states, and will talk to various organizations and groups about the importance of the agriculture industry.
Upon completion of the program, each ambassador will receive a scholarship for their service. The ambassadors are also presented with a digital camera to photograph the experience and given the use of a laptop computer and an LCD projector for the year.

Last year’s ambassador team made more than 350 presentations on various agriculture topics to nearly 21,000 people. 2010 New Century Farmer
Fifty students from across the nation recently converged on the Pioneer campus in Johnston, Iowa, for the 2010 New Century Farmer program. While at the conference, individuals participated in several educational sessions featuring distinguished business and industry professionals such as Jim Wiesemeyer (Informa Economics), John Buck (TurnKey Leadership), Dr. David Kohl (Virginia Tech University), and Dr. Ronald Hanson (University of Nebraska).
The scheduled presentation topics ranged from farm succession, global agriculture, new and emerging farm machinery to agricultural marketing and finance. The conference was free for the selected delegation, thanks to the generous contributions of sponsors – Pioneer, Rabo AgriFinance, and Case IH, with media partner Successful Farming,as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.

2010 FFA GO: Africa
Six collegiate FFA members were recently selected to participate in the FFA Global Outreach: Africa (FFA GO: Africa) program. As part of the intensive three-week engagement experience, members of the team are assisting local farmers in Zambia, Africa to fight area hunger and poverty through sustainable agriculture and conservation. The all-expenses-paid program is made possible by generous sponsorship from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation.

2010 I-CAL Team Returns from Malaysia and Taiwan
The 2010 I-CAL team, made up of twelve college students from across the U.S. returned from Malaysia and Taiwan this past month after being in Asia for eleven days. While overseas the team had the opportunity to see and understand the importance of international ag, trade and marketing, as well as see how American agriculture plays a role in the global market place.
The team sat in on meetings with experts from different commodity and agricultural groups including the Federation of Livestock Farmers Association of Malaysia, Foreign Agriculture Service, Taiwan Council of Agriculture, America Institute in Taiwan, and Taiwan Feed Industry Association. The team also toured a poultry farm and processing plant, swine operation, palm tree oil production facility, feed milling operations, and two grain unloading ports. Time was also spent touring cultural sites including the Taipei 101 building in Taiwan and the Petronas Towers in Malaysia.
Tim Martini from Colorado State University said of the program, “We all know that agriculture is a global industry and being able to spend time here in Asia has opened our eyes to different agricultural practices, and industries in agriculture. We can’t thank the United States Grain Council and The GRAINS Foundation enough for sponsoring this program.” The I-CAL program is sponsored by The GRAINS Foundation as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.
